Around 60 people, vice-rectors in charge of scientific activities and directors of doctoral schools participated, between October 21st and 22nd, at "Organization of the 3rd cycle of studies" training, conducted by the European expert Liviu Matei, vice-rector at the Central European University from Budapest, professor at the School of Public Policy and member of the Council for Doctoral Education of the European University Association.
Liviu Matei shared his knowledge with the vice-rectors and directors of doctor schools regarding the process of establishment and management of these departments. The expert referred also to the status of doctoral programs, European Qualification Framework, the role of doctoral supervisors, intellectual property rights and the process of attracting potential doctoral students.
After interaction with the audience, the expert, who has extensive international experience, concluded that the process of establishing doctoral schools is developing well in Moldova and the legal framework allows doctoral mobility.
The training was appreciated by the beneficiaries as very helpful and organized right in time, as the process of implementing doctoral schools in Moldova is underway.
"Organization of the 3rd cycle of studies" falls within the Technical Assistance Mission to support reform in Higher Education in Moldova. The activity is financed by the European Commission, within Erasmus+ Programme. The seminar was organized by the National Erasmus + Office in Moldova in collaboration with the Higher Education Reform Experts, under the auspices of the Ministry of Education.
43 doctoral schools received the approval for establishment in Moldovan Higher Education Institutions in early October 2015.
