
On 12-13 December 2024, the National Erasmus+ Office in Moldova, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Research and the EU Delegation to the Republic of Moldova, organised an online Technical Assistance Mission type seminar for higher education institutions. The event, entitled “Strengthening the Quality Management System at the Institutional and National Level”, brought together international and national experts to analyse the quality assurance practices in higher education.
The seminar was part of the activities of the Higher Education Reform Experts (HERE) within the Erasmus+ Programme, and was organized with the support of the SPHERE consortium and the European University Association (EUA).
Experts at the event were Dr. Esther Huertas Hidalgo, Head of the Quality Assurance Department of the Agency for the Quality of the University System of Catalonia, Spain, Member of the ENQA Evaluation Committee, as well as Dr. Sandra Marcos Ortega, Vice-Rector for Quality of the Pontifical University of Salamanca, Spain.
The event included sessions on key topics such as:
- the legislative framework for quality assurance in higher education in the Republic of Moldova;
- European experiences in quality assurance, including methodologies and accreditation decisions;
- implementing an effective internal quality management system in universities;
- quality assurance in the context of online learning and micro-credentials.
More than 70 participants were present at the seminar, representing universities from all over the country, and having the opportunity to discuss with international experts good practices and policies for improving quality assurance processes. The seminar encouraged the exchange of experiences and provided strategic recommendations for adapting to the standards of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).
