The National Erasmus+ Office in Moldova, in cooperation with the EU Delegation to the Republic of Moldova and the Ministry of Education and Research, organised on October 21, 2025, at the Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts, the seminar for higher education institutions in Moldova under the title "Mobility and internationalisation in higher education: Advancing the Bologna Process ".
The event was organised with the support of the Higher Education Reform Experts (HERE) in Moldova, as part of the activities of the HERE team in the Republic of Moldova. It should be noted that the Higher Education Reform Experts operate within the framework of the Erasmus+ Programme, with the support of the international SPHERE consortium. It includes experts from the European University Association (EUA), as well as over 800 universities from the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), and 33 national rectors' councils.
The seminar was led by expert Dr. Ligia Deca, Vice-Rector responsible for institutional relations and strategic projects at the National School of Political and Administrative Studies (SNSPA), Bucharest and Secretary General of the Romanian National Commission for UNESCO.
The seminar aimed to address the main challenges and opportunities in the field of academic mobility, with a particular focus on the Republic of Moldova, as an EU candidate country. The discussions highlighted the need to develop cooperation for attractive, inclusive and sustainable mobility, in accordance with the principles of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). Participants also analysed policies that foster the comprehensive internationalisation of higher education and explore the added value of Moldova’s potential participation in European University Alliances, especially in strengthening cooperation, quality, and integration within the EHEA.
The event brought together more than 80 participants: representatives of the academia from across the country, managers of higher education institutions, representatives of the Ministry of Education and Research and civil society.
