Erasmus+, the European Union programme for education, training, youth and sport, launched on 12 November the new call for proposals 2026, with a total budget of 5.2 billion euros available for the coming year, including for projects with the participation of institutions from the Republic of Moldova.
In light of this launch, the National Erasmus+ Office in Moldova, in cooperation with the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova and the Ministry of Education and Research, organised on November 26, at the Moldova State University, the Information Session on Erasmus+ opportunities for higher education.
The session brought together representatives of universities from the country, interested in expanding international cooperation and accessing the new opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ Programme. Participants benefited from detailed presentations on the available actions, the current priorities of the programme and the news brought by the 2026 call. The event also included a presentation by the Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Education and Research, Ludmila Pavlov, on the national priorities in the field of higher education, as well as a presentation of the European Union projects EUROGUIDANCE, EUROPASS, EQF and EURYDICE.
The information campaign will continue in the coming weeks, with events addressed to representatives of public or private institutions active in the fields of education, training, youth and sport who are interested in applying for funding under Erasmus+, to students and young people, but also to all people willing to learn more about the programme.
The Erasmus+ programme represents an example of the positive impact of European integration and international mobility, enriching the lives of almost 13 million beneficiaries to date. The budget of the new Erasmus+ Programme 2021-2027 is 26.2 billion euros, supplemented by approximately 2.2 billion euros from the external instruments of the European Union. Under the new Erasmus+ programme, in the period 2021-2025, educational institutions in the Republic of Moldova have already managed to implement: over 2000 Erasmus+ academic mobilities between universities in the Republic of Moldova and the EU, 19 capacity building projects in higher education, 13 Jean Monnet projects, 15 capacity building projects in the field of vocational education and training, 14 CB Youth projects, etc.
